School board elections in Iowa are almost two weeks away (Sept. 8). I’m getting ready to put together questions for local candidates and would love to get suggestions from parents, students and community members. There’s a lot of issues going on in every district that affect families. School board members are the ones in charge of addressing those issues.

The Davenport District has spent thousands of dollars on a midle school program called “The Power of I”. How does a program that allows students to defer work and miss deadlines without consequence prepare them for the rigors of high school/college and the workplace where deadlines are expected to be meant?
